Getting married is a deeply personal commitment and at the same time an immensely public commitment. To get legally married is to declare to the whole world that you two love each other and that you will stand by each other and with each other, through the good and the bad, for the rest of your lives. That nothing will ever tear you apart. That’s the public bit. The immensely private bit is the bit where you know deeply that this person, that you will stand in front of and take solemn wedding vows with, is your soulmate. That this person is the person for you.
“I will take the time to listen to you and to work with you to create a marriage ceremony that honours the deeply private and hugely public commitment that you are making.”
